WATER DAMAGE

Water damage claims are covered by most homeowner and commercial insurance policies, though in some cases, they are covered by flood insurance. Getting a professional public adjuster to accurately assess the damage will help your claim get the maximum payout. The leading cause of property losses in offices, apartments and other real estate facilities is from water damage, according to a review of Zurich claims data, which shows there is nearly a 50% chance that the next property claim will be water- related.

STORM DAMAGE

Proper storm damage insurance policy coverage is important for restoring your property quickly after an incident. If you have been impacted by storm damage, we can help you, by reviewing your insurance policy and damage to make sure you have proper coverage before calling your insurance company!

FIRE DAMAGE

A fire can leave property owners facing difficult times in addition to being displaced out of their home. Our expert public adjusters will accurately investigate any fire damage insurance claim, and get to work quickly to get your claim paid, and help get your property back to pre-loss conditions.

COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES

Commercial property damage claims are complex claims that can often become very tricky. Let Stokes Public Adjusters expert commercial public adjusters, help your business get back up and running and ensure that your claim is processed and paid out properly.

FLAT/LOW-SLOPE ROOFS

Roof systems are one of the most commonly damaged elements of the building envelope during natural disasters such as tornados and hail/ wind damage.  Determining if damage has occurred to a roof and the extent of the damages related to a storm event can be a difficult and controversial issue among building owners, professionals, and insurance companies. We are experienced when it comes to understanding building envelope.

INFRARED MOISTURE SURVEYS

Infrared Moisture Surveys provide an economical way to identify specific areas of wet insulation and moisture present in the existing roof system. Water can enter the roof system and saturate the insulation and underlying layers. Wet areas on the roof take longer to cool down with the outside air compared to the dry areas. This means that the wet areas hold heat longer at the end of the day. GET a Moisture Survey done on your low- sloped roof today if your roof is older than two years old.

HOSPITALITY INSURANCE CLAIMS

The advantage for your hotel is that the designated adjuster you would likely recruit will specialize in the hospitality industry and know the specific policy language before any claim is made. They have been selected by the insurance company or program administrator in advance of the policy inception and they know what is covered and what is not. In some cases, they will visit your property before a claim in order to understand all the intricacies of your operations. When a claim happens, they are a step ahead.

INSURANCE APPRAISAL PROCESS

Appraisal is a Policy Provision found in the Loss Settlement section.  It is an Alternate Dispute Resolution, which can  resolve disagreement when the Carrier and Policyholder do not agree on the amount of loss.  It is an alternative to a lawsuit.  Appraisal does not address coverage issues, but can include or exclude items based on causation depending on the state.

Sometimes there is a disagreement over the insurance company's valuation of an insurance claim. Policyholders often think the only way to settle the dispute is to hire a lawyer. Fortunately, this is not the case.  Appraisal is a method of Alternative Dispute Resolution often found in many homeowner and commercial insurance policies.

The language will often, but not always, state that appraisal is mandatory when properly demanded by the insurer or insured. It is important to have a qualified Appraiser review your policy to determine your options.

When properly executed, appraisal is binding on the parties as to the amount of loss only. Appraisal does not determine coverage. If not properly invoked, employed, and/or carried out the process may not be binding, so it is important to select a qualified appraiser and umpire.
